How We Collect Information About You
When you visit the Vila da Falésia website or use Vila da Falésia services, we collect your IP address and standard web access information such as your browser type and the pages you accessed on our site. If you register, we will collect the following types of information:

  • Contact information – your name, address, phone number, email, Skype username, and other similar data.

  • Financial information – your bank account and credit card numbers provided when you purchased Vila da Falésia services.

Before allowing use of Vila da Falésia services, we may require additional information to verify your identity or address or to manage risk, such as your birth date, national ID number, nationality, and other identifying information. We may also obtain information about you from third parties, such as credit bureaus and identity verification services.

When using Vila da Falésia services, we collect information about your transactions and other activities on our site and may collect information about your computer or other access device for fraud prevention purposes. Additionally, we may collect further information from or about you through other means, such as contact with our customer support team, survey responses, interactions with the Vila da Falésia corporate family or other companies.

How We Use Cookies
When you access our site, we—and the companies we hire to track usage of our site—may place small data files called “cookies” on your computer. We send a “session cookie” to your computer when you log into your account or use Vila da Falésia services. This type of cookie helps us recognize you if you visit multiple pages on our site during the same session, so we don’t need to ask for your password on each page. Once you log out or close your browser, this cookie expires and no longer has any effect.

We also use more permanent cookies for other purposes, such as to display your email address in our login form so that you don’t have to re-enter your email each time you log in. We encode our cookies so that only we can interpret the stored information. You are free to decline our cookies if your browser permits, but doing so may interfere with your use of our site.

We and our service providers also use cookies to customize our services, content, and advertising, measure the effectiveness of promotions, and promote trust and safety.

You may encounter third-party cookies when using Vila da Falésia services on certain websites that are not under our control (e.g., when you view a web page created by a third party or use a third-party-developed application, a cookie may be placed by that page or app).

Google Remarketing
We use Google AdWords Remarketing to serve ads on Google partner sites. This feature allows us to identify that you have visited our site so that Google can show our ads on other websites.

Various third-party vendors, including Google, purchase ad space on websites across the internet. We may contract Google to display our ads in those spaces. To identify your visit to our site, both Google and other third-party vendors use cookies, as outlined in the “How We Use Cookies” section.

You can disable Google’s use of cookies by visiting the Ad Preferences Manager.

How We Protect and Store Personal Information
Throughout this policy, we use the term “personal information” to describe data that can be associated with a specific person and can be used to identify that person. We do not consider information that has been anonymized to be personal, as it cannot be used to identify a specific user.

We store and process your personal information on our computers and protect it using physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards. We use computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, enforce physical access controls to our buildings and files, and only authorize access to personal information for employees who need it to fulfill their job responsibilities.

How We Use the Personal Information We Collect
Our primary purpose in collecting personal information is to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient, and customized experience. To that end, we use your personal information to:

  • Provide the services and customer support you request;

  • Process transactions and send notices about your transactions;

  • Resolve disputes, collect fees, and troubleshoot problems;

  • Prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities and enforce our User Agreement;

  • Customize, measure, and improve our services, content, and layout;

  • Send targeted marketing, service update notices, and promotional offers based on your communication preferences;

  • Compare information for accuracy and verify it with third parties.

Marketing
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We may combine your information with data we collect from other companies and use it to improve and personalize our services, content, and advertising. If you do not wish to receive our marketing messages or participate in our ad personalization programs, simply indicate your preference by emailing us or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any of our emails.

How We Share Personal Information with Other Parties
We may share your personal information with:

  • Members of the Vila da Falésia corporate family to provide joint content, products, and services (like registration, transactions, and customer support), to help detect and prevent potentially illegal acts and violations of our policies, and to help make decisions about their products, services, and communications. Corporate family members will use this information to send you marketing only if you have requested their services.

  • Service providers under contract who help with parts of our business operations (fraud prevention, collections, marketing, technology services). Our contracts require these service providers to use your information only in connection with the services they perform for us, not for their own benefit.

  • Companies we plan to merge with or be acquired by. (In the event of a merger, we will require the new entity to follow this privacy policy with respect to your personal data. If your data could be used in conflict with this policy, you will receive prior notice.)

  • Law enforcement, government officials, or other third parties when we are compelled to do so by subpoena, court order, or similar legal process; we need to do so to comply with the law or credit card association rules; we are cooperating with an ongoing investigation; or we believe in good faith that the disclosure is necessary to prevent physical harm or financial loss, report suspected illegal activity, or investigate violations of our User Agreement.

  • Other third parties with your consent or direction to do so.

Please note that these third parties may be in other countries with different, possibly less stringent, data protection laws than your own.

When our company and a partner jointly promote our Services, we may disclose to the partner certain personal information such as name, address, and username of individuals who registered for our Services as a result of the joint promotion, solely to evaluate the promotion’s results. In this case, the partner may not use the personal information for any other purpose.

Vila da Falésia will not sell or rent your personal information to third parties in the normal course of business and will only share your information with third parties as described in this policy. If you register with Vila da Falésia through a third-party website or application, any data entered on that site or app (and not directly on a Vila da Falésia site) will be shared with the owner of that site or app – and your data may be subject to their privacy policies.
